Gianna Jessen Interview on Hannity and Colmes

The video below features Gianna Jessen, who I blogged about back in June in my post Survivor of Late-Term Abortion Comments on Barack Obama. (Special thanks to Mary, who brought my attention to this in her comment on an earlier blog. By the way, since I'm now sharing a sequence of blogs that feature videos, I welcome any such suggestions from readers; I read all your comments, and greatly appreciate them.)

Gianna was intervewed on Fox's Hannity and Colmes, where she shared her personal story and also commented on Obama's voting record. As an Illinois state senator, four times he voted “no” on the Illinois Born-Alive Infant Defined Act, which would protect babies born alive after failed abortions.

There is a lively discussion at the end about whether or not Obama, by his vote, was in fact denying born babies (abortion survivors now outside the womb), the right to live.

So, what do you think?

I watched it on Fox and thought what I usually think about Alan Colmes - he's rude and runs right over anyone who has anything to say that would challenge his opinion. I was appalled by his behavior towards her, but she handled herself very well, I thought. Good for her for putting herself out there to let others know the truth.

I've seen Gianna give her story so many places - hooray for someone who gives God the glory and doesn't back down from assaults on her truthfulness. IF (and I'm giving the benefit of doubt) Senator Obama is concerned about the rights of the already born - why doesn't his voting record show that? To continue to claim it was over technicalities in the law that it would have opened the door for challenges to Roe V.Wade - seems disingenuous at best. Thank you again Randy for standing for the rights of ALL humans - preborn, just born and about to be born again into eternity. It takes a while for some of us to realize the lies of the proabortion forces - but once your eyes are opened there is no turning back.

I read the book about her a few years ago and was truly moved by her story. She is a joy to listen to, and I was impressed by how she carried herself on H&C the other night. I think she is right on the money about BO's voting record and what it stands for. God bless her!

Randy,
I used to comment here a while back under the name, "a friend." You can call me Nicole. I recently started a pro-life blog with stories and poetry to try and get to the heart of what it means to be pro-life -- or not.

I'd like to share with you this entry I wrote:

http://cryjusticecryfreedomcryaction.blogspot.com/2008/08/you-choose.html

And then to share that a week or two after writing it, I came across this quote in a book I was reading:

"In August 2002, a very disturbing annual 'State of the First Amendment' poll was released by the First Amendment Center. The results of the poll showed a dramatically high dependence on and trust in government, but also showed extremely high ignorance regarding the purpose and the content of the Constitution. The poll, which was conducted by the University of Columbia's Center for Survey Research and Analysis, found that 49 percent of Americans believe that the First Amendment goes too far in the rights it grants and guarantees. ...
About half of those surveyed said the FBI should be able to moniter religious groups in the name of national security, even if that means infringing on religious freedoms. These answers are being provided by people who couldn't even say the First Amendment grants freedom of speech."

Isn't it no wonder that Obama, with his socialist values and lack of morality with regards to life and thus true freedom for all, is so close to becoming President of our country? I am just astounded. What are your thoughts on this -- why so many people are in support of Obama in spite of the threat the choices he'd make would pose to our free institutions? And more importantly, what are your thoughts on how we can best expose him, as Gianna Jessen is trying to do? I know how hard and even hurtful it must be for her to stand on the front lines as she is. How can we help?

And, finally, to answer your question:

I think Gianna is correct. Even if there wasn't proof of Obama's voting record on these issues (which there is), we can still see in actual things he's said his extreme lack of value for life. He has said that if one of his daughters became pregnant that he would not want her "punished" with a child. When asked when does a BABY get rights, he said that the answer to that question is above his pay grade. When asked if he regreted any of his votes while in the senate he named one: To protect Terri Schiavo. I strongly believe that the facts show that his voting record is against the just born who were marked for abortion. But even if they didn't, it's still obvious what his stance is on life -- if someone doesn't want you, you hold no value, deserve no rights, and Mr. Obama is out to make sure of that.

Wow--what an incredible video. Thank you for posting this. This has never been brought to my attention before. I am overwhelmed in sorrow and sobriety. (And praise for Ms. Jessin's life and testimony!)

I totally agree with Zona. I don't like listening to Alan Colmes.
Gianna is an awesome lady being used of God in a mighty way. We need to pray for her as she speaks out.
Thanks for posting the video.

Watching this, I have many mixed thoughts and feelings....mostly it makes me want to pray for Alan Colmes...I will add him to my prayer list as I meet with my Lord tomorrow morning. I will continue to pray for Mr. Obama.

Obama's and Colmes' life changing need for Christ, as with all of us, is the answer. Thank you for posting this video.
